Do you like to play board games?
If so, playing board games can be a great way of developing thinking, refreshing memory, helping preschoolers prepare for school, and stimulating older people's brains. So, for all of us, it's a great way to spend time with friends or family, because with board games you'll definitely never get bored!
Within the framework of the international platform NAPLE Sister Libraries, we present to you a series of board games at the Municipal Library in Tábor and our sister library in Chrzanów (Poland).
Board games in Tábor Library
In total, there are 831 board games in the library collection. Currently, most of the games are waiting for their new home in the new library building. The other part brings joy to readers who took board games home “for care” during the library's move to a new location.
But readers still have chance to get board games: at the branch of the library in Sídliště nad Lužnicí there are 81 board games and at the branch of Pražské Sídliště there are 78 of them.
We have games divided into several categories for kids (3 months), for adults and the elderly. Each reader can take home up to 4 board games for 14 days and extend them to a maximum of 42 days. The offer of our board game collection for playing can be found here.
Regularly, once a month we organize board game events for adults and children. You may feel excited, adventurous, courageous or, perhaps, even lonely and sad, but there’s always a chance to play and connect with like-minded people. Anyone may come, admission is free.
We also offer a perfect opportunity of playing board games to schools at the library. Teachers can arrange a visit to our library, during which the students will play games from our collection (didactic, knowledge, strategy, or even science fiction and fantasy) during two class hours. We have a very nice experience that children, while visiting us, find a nice book, or later come back to us with their parents as our new readers and start using the library's possibilities to the fullest. And that's a great way to spend your free time, we think.
